ROCK THE RACEWAY FROM PITTSBURGH
Pittsburgh is the largest fan base for Rock the Raceway 2026. Jennerstown Speedway Complex sits about 60 miles southeast of downtown, an easy day trip or weekend in the Laurel Highlands. The festival is Sunday, August 23, 2026, with gates at 1 PM.
Two ways to drive
The fast route is the Pennsylvania Turnpike: I-376 east to I-76 east, exit 91 Somerset, then PA-601 north and US-30 west into Jennerstown. About 75 minutes if traffic cooperates. Tolls run roughly $7 each way.
The scenic route is US-30 east the whole way through Greensburg, Latrobe, and Ligonier. About 90 minutes but no tolls and a much prettier ride through the Laurel Highlands. Plan a stop in Ligonier for lunch on the diamond.
Make a weekend of it
Pittsburgh fans often turn this into a Saturday-Sunday trip. Saturday-night racing at Jennerstown Speedway Complex pairs perfectly with the festival Sunday. Add lodging in Donegal, Somerset, or Champion. Seven Springs and Hidden Valley both have hotel rooms, restaurants, and weekend activities including mountain biking, disc golf, and the alpine slide.
Other Saturday options: Ohiopyle State Park whitewater on the Yough, Fallingwater tour at Mill Run, or a hike up Mount Davis (the highest point in PA, 45 minutes south).
Carpool, rideshare, return drive
Rideshare from Pittsburgh runs around $80 to $110 one way depending on surge. Most fans drive. Carpool parking is signed at the speedway. Allow at least 30 minutes for exit traffic after the 9:30 PM wrap; the return drive on US-30 west and the Turnpike is straightforward but the local roads bottleneck briefly.
A free shuttle plan from designated park-and-ride lots is published 30 days before the event for Somerset and Boswell pickups. Pittsburgh shuttle service may be added if demand justifies it; check the event page closer to August.
